    Factors that Affect Pellet Quality

    Sven Lessmann, born 1965 in Switzerland is married with 2 children. He joined Buhler in 1982 and made an apprenticeship as draftsman. After that he obtained an engineering degree at the university of applied science in St. Gallen / Switzerland and later on a business degree. He then had several jobs as design engineer and project manager within the Buhler group until he joined the Feed and Biomass department in 1995. In 1996 he moved to South Africa, heading the Feed and Biomass department for Buhler until 2006. Thereafter he was transferred to the USA, building up the Feed and Biomass department for the North American marked for Buhler. Still working for Buhler he currently is responsible for the North American and the Southern African market.

    Roderick Prince is the International and Pet Business Director at Trouw Nutrition GB where he has Management Board responsibility for all products exported from the company’s site in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. He is also the leader of Trouw Nutrition Pet Team Europe which supplies leading global and regional Pet Food manufacturers across the whole of Europe including Russia. This team services brands in Europe with a value which exceeds $12bn. Brand assurance and food safety is at the heart of the company’s manufacturing ethos. Roderick was instrumental in Trouw Nutrition GB receiving the human food standard ISO22000: 2005 and Sedex 4-Pillar accreditation in 2013. He has a BSc (Hons) in Agricultural Science, an MSc in Agricultural Management and is a Member of The Institute of Export.

    Safety/OSHA Inspections for Feed Mills

    Dr. Charles Stark joined the K-State Grain Science and Industry faculty as the Jim and Carol Brown Associate Professor in Feed Technology in 2013. Dr. Stark is a K-State alumnus with degrees in animal sciences (B.S.) and grain science (M.S., Ph.D.). He has a joint faculty appointment in the Departments of Grain Science & Industry (75%) and Animal Sciences & Industry (25%). He serves as the faculty coordinator of the new O.H. Kruse Feed Technology Innovation Center and Cargill Feed Safety Research Center. His extension program provides outreach in the areas of feed safety, quality assurance, and feed processing technology to the citizens of Kansas, the United States, and people throughout the world. The emphasis of his current research is the testing of new products and feed manufacturing processes that allow animal agriculture to efficiently produce a safe food supply of meat, milk, and eggs.

    Dr. Ajay W Deoghare presently is working as the Business Director of Finland based Bios AgriCorp Ltd, a global technology company for Agriculture, Animal Health and Food sectors. Bios AgriCorp mission is Protecting Promoting and Encouraging Life, which is centered on innovation, research and development. Dr. Ajay is a competent technocrat in the agribusiness sector, and an innovator. He holds a degree in Veterinary science and a Masters Degree in Business Management. Prior to this he had worked with Roche and BASF.

    Buis Ebbinge has been a successful professional before starting & establishing his Company Daavision, He has got more than 15 years experience in Organic Acid. He is now handling the company affairs as a CEO & Managing Director and has been instrumental to expand the business of Daavision in more than 33 countries with a turnover of over than 11 million Euros. Daavision BV is a first generation company, founded in 2003 by Mr Buis Ebbinge and Mr. Ejal Heijman in Wageningen the Agriculture capital of Holland. Today, Daavision is known as one of the leading companies specializing in organic acid mixture nominated two years in a row for Innovation Award (2013, 2014).

    Role of Organic Minerals in Poultry Nutrition

    Natasha Snyman completed her Masters degree in Animal Nutrition in 2005. She then joined a large feed company as an Operational Nutritionist. During her time as a feed mill nutritionist she was responsible for multi species feed formulation as well as quality control at the feed mill. She was then appointed as Formulations manager for the feed company during which time she was responsible for coordinating feed formulation and quality control at all feed mills. She was then promoted to Technical Executive: Monogastric responsible for all technical aspects of the feed company’s monogastric feed, this included product development and on farm problem solving.

    Future Trends in Poultry Industry

    Dr Roel Mulder graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Delft in The Netherlands (1969) and completed his PhD in Agricultural Sciences at Wageningen University, Wageningen, The Netherlands (1982). He worked for 30 years at the Spelderholt Centre for Poultry Research, Beekbergen, The Netherlands, in several positions from scientist, head of department to acting Director. Main subjects are: technology of the production of poultry and egg products, hygiene, food safety, quality control, re-use of poultry waste, nutrition. After 3 years at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium at the Research Directorate, he started Spelderholt® Poultry Consulting and Research, a consulting company in The Netherlands (2002). Currently he is Secretary General of the Worlds Poultry Science Association (WPSA).

    Opportunities in the Feed Milling Industry by Combining New Generation Xylanase and Phytase Enzymes

    Dr Rob ten Doeschate graduated from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and then completed his PhD in a joint project between Spelderholt institute and Wageningen University. He worked in research for a short time until he joined Dalgety in the UK as poultry nutritionist. Dalgety was absorbed into ABN and Rob worked in similar roles within ABN until 2009. In May 2009 he joined AB Vista as technical manager EMEA, with the aim to use his expertise in compound feed design and production to advise AB Vista customers. With the growth of the business there is now a team of technical managers covering the EMEA area, which Rob is heading as Technical Director EMEA. The emphasis is still on working with customers to get the best possible result out of the application of enzyme technology.

    Charles is in charge of the French subsidiary of Perten Instruments, including French territories, Northern Africa and French speaking Africa. Perten has in France an efficient network for Service & Applications on Perten devices.
    This is a tremendous task that allows Charles to go to any flour/feed miller laboratory throughout the world, work with the largest food corporations & talk to the most experienced cereals chemists in the most prestigious Universities & institutes.
    Charles has a Master degree in Political Sciences and a Master in Agribusiness from KSU, Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas.
