ABOUT RWANDA

Rwanda, the “Land of a Thousand Hills,” is a scenic East African country with Kigali as its capital. Known for its stunning landscapes, mountain gorillas, and remarkable recovery from the 1994 genocide, Rwanda stands out for its cleanliness, conservation efforts, and vibrant culture.

  • Main Airport: Kigali International Airport (KGL) is the primary gateway for international flights.
  • Currency: Rwandan Franc (RWF) is the official currency. Major hotels and some establishments accept credit cards, but it is advisable to have local currency on hand for smaller purchases.

VISA INFORMATION

Rwanda offers a welcoming and seamless visa process for all travelers. Visitors from anywhere in the world can apply for an entry visa either online or via upon arrival.

Available Visa Options: 

Visa on Arrival: Available to visitors from all countries at any entry point. 

Online visa (e-Visa): Apply online easily and conveniently before your trip. 

Nationals of all countries receive a visa on arrival at Kigali International Airport and all land borders for a fee of 50 USD.

Citizens of African Union, Commonwealth, and La Francophonie member countries are granted a visa upon arrival and are waived visa fees for visits up to 30 days.

Citizens of East African Community Member States are issued a pass/entry visa free of charge upon arrival and can stay for up to six months.

Travelers can also apply for an online visa prior to their trip, provided by the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration (DGIE).
